People are patients only while under direct clinical care.  Beyond that they are a lifetime of habits and positive consequences.  The behaviors associated with improving their clinical outcomes and future health are Inconvenient, Confusing, Expensive 

Nurses are patient educators.  Too often patient education is left to the last minute before discharge.  Nurses need tools in their tool box to both provide that service and protect their licenses.  

Leading others is not an "born leader" phenomena.  Nurses in leadership or management positions are often "Peter Principaled" and fail or are lost in this position. Nursing Applied Behavior Leadership (N-ABLe) is an evidence-based approach to ensuring the nurse leaders of tomorrow. The measure of a leader is found in understanding why followers do the things they do, and how to bring out the best in subordinate behavior.
